Smelt Fish Curry

Hai friends today i amcoming with the Smelt fish curry.This fish curry is very tasty.I love it.Ok lets go to the recipe.


Smelt fish-2 lbs
Tamarind-Lemon size
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil-2 tsp
Curry leaves few
Jaggery -1/2 tsp
Turmeric little pinch
Coriander few to Garnish


First we have to clean the fish.This i show in the previous post.So lets go to the reciepe.
First we have to extract the thick pulp from the tamarind.
We have to soak the tamarind in water for 10 minutes so that we can extract easily.Take thick pulp from the tamarind and keep it aside.
Place the pan and heat it when it gets heat add the oil and heat it.
Add the chopped onions and turmeric and mix well and fry until it changes to light brown.

To this add the curry leaves,chilli powder,salt,jaggery and tamarind pulp and make it boil.
When it starts boiling add the cleaned fish and make it cook.
Dont mix it becuse it may get scatterd..Cook until it gets together and thick.
Do not cover with lid .
When all the water gets evaporated switch off the heat and transfer to serving bowl.
Finally garnish with the chopped coriander.
Serve hot with steamed rice.

How to clean the smelt fish

Hai friends today i am coming with Smelt fish.For the first time i bought this fish.before i did not know about this fish.So first i give a call to my mom and i asked how to cook this fish She first asked me did they clean the fish .I told no.She asked me did they remove the head i told no.When i bought the fish we invited our friends to lunch i did not know how to clean the fish.My mom told to remove every head .But its lot of work to do.So i skip this curry and cook the next day.Atlast i know how to clean this fish. 1.First we have to defrost the fish.If we use fresh fish there is no need to defrost the fish.
2.Then take one fish and cut the head as i shown in the pic.

3.When removing the head one black string will also have to remove.
If it is not removed the fish tastes like bitter.So we have remove the black string.
4.Remove every head from the fish.Do all fish like this.
5.Now clean the fish with water and add some salt ,turmeric and apply to all the fishes.

6.Leave the fish aside for 5 minutes.
7.After 5 minutes clean the fish with water for 2 times.
*.Now the fish is ready to cook.

Roomali Roti

Hai friends today i am coming with nice Indian Bread called Roomali roti.This is very famous in India.This can be fold like kerchief and we can unfold like the roti.This recipe be can be made by 2 versions but i can show only one.This i got from Sanjay Tumma the chef for vahrehvah blog.I first show this recipe in his website.When i try this it came out good.My husband and me became fans for this roti.Today i want to share with u guys.


Wheat flour(Atta)-1 cup

Maida-1 cup

Rice flour-2 tsp

Salt to taste

Ghee-1 tsp

Method:In Bowl mix wheat flour, maida, salt and mix them together.

To this dry ingredients add water make a smooth & elastic dough and set aside for 15 minutes.

Now make 2 small balls of the dough andpress them with ur fingers as shown in the picture.

Apply ghee to one side spread the ghee side to the rice flour

Now put them together with the fat side facing each other roll like a thin chapati

The chapathi should be very thin as sanjay tummma told it should be like tissue.

Now place the tawa and heat it.

It should be very hot so that the roti should not stick to the tawa.

Place the rumali roti carefully over it and cook till they puff up and cook it on both sides.Now u will be able to seperate the two layers. Fold it like a handkerchief and again we can fold like the chapathi.

Serve hot with curry and salad.

Chayote Curry

Hai friends today i am coming with simple and tasty curry with chayote.This i learned from my mother in law.Before that i never tried this.One day i try this in my inlaws house.I like this so just want to share the recipe with u.

Oil-1 tsp
Chilli powder-1 tsp(or acc to ur taste)
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli pieces-few
Curry leaves few
Ginger Garlic paste -1/2 tsp
Coriander few strings

First clean the chayote with water and peel the skin.Now cut the chayote in vertically.In the centre there is one seed with the help of melon baller or spoon we can remove the seed and cut into pieces.

Now place the pan and heat it.
When it gets heat pour oil add the urad dal and chana dal when it changes the colour add the mustard seeds.within few seconds the mustard seeds pop soon add the jeera,red chilli pieces and curry leaves.

Now add the onions,turmeric and fry until it onion changes the colour .

To this add the chayote pieces,turmeric and mix well.

Now add the gingergarlic paste,salt and chilli powder and mix well.

Now cover this and cook in the low heat.
After few minutes now open the lid and mix well and take them to the serving bowl.

Finally garnish with the coriander and serve with hot rice or roti.
