Aratikaya/Plantain Podi Koora

 Hai friends today I am coming with yummy and tasty curry 'Aratikaya Podi Koora". This is very simple and unique recipe. This can be prepared with or without onion. I made this curry in both ways. I loved it both ways. This curry goes nice with rasam rice and sambar rice. This we can add the tomato too. When i feel bore with some curries i love to change some ingredients and try new recipes. In the same way we can do Potato and Sweet Potato. Ok lets go the recipe









Ingredients:


Aratikayalu/Plantain-3

Salt to taste

Chilli powder to taste

Oil-1 to 2 tsp

Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp

Jeera-1/2 tsp

Urad dal-1 tsp

Chana dal-1 tsp

Dry red chilli pieces few

Curry Leaves few


Procedure:

Here are the raw bananas. Clean well with water and cut the ends.

Keep them in the water. Place the vessel on the stove and heat it

Boil the raw banana until the fork or knife insert.

Off the heat and take out from the water.

Make it cool and peel the skin. Grate it as shown here,

Here is grated raw banana.


Method:

Place the pan add oil and heat it. When oil gets heat add the urad dal and chana dal. When chana dal is 

light brown add the mustard seeds,jeera.dry red chilli pieces and curry leaves

add the salt and chili powder mix it immediately in low heat.

Soon add the grated  cooked plantain. Mix it well and off the heat

Now curry is ready

Dondakaya Masala Fry

Hai friends today I am coming with simple and tasty curry called "Dondakaya Masala Fry".This is very easy to prepare.This recipe dont need onion and garlic.This recipe can make with or without tamarind.I like tangy taste so i added tamarind.Ok lets go the recipe

Ingredients:
Dondakayalu-2 cups
Peanuts-3 tsp
Urad dal-2 tsp
Chana dal-2 tsp
Sesame seeds-2tsp
Methi seeds-1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds-1 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chillies-6(Use acc to ur taste)
Salt to taste
oil-2 tsp

Preparation:


Place the pan and heat it.Add peanuts dry roast for 2 minutes.

 Later add the urad dal,sesame seeds,chana dal,methi and fry it in low heat,


 FAfter frying for 2 minutes and add the coriander seeds , jeera and dry red chillies
 Fry for 1 to 2 minutes and add finally add the tamarind and off the heat.
 Make it cool and then grind to powder.

When it is cooled down.Transfer all the mixture to the jar
 Blend to  powder
 Keep this powder aside
Method:

Place another pan add oil and heat it
Add the sliced dondakaya pieces.Fry for 2 minutes.



 Add the salt and cover it cook in low heat for 5 minutes


 When the dondakaya cooked well add the  grinded powder.

 Mix it well
 Fry for 2 minutes and now the curry is ready to serve
 Serve it hot with chapati or steamed rice.

Cucumber Raita (Easy Way in the chopper)

Hai friends today I am coming with easy recipe called "Cucumber Raita".Today I am making this raita in the chopper.This I got idea from my mom.Last time when I went India my mom used the chopper to making buttermilk.Then I got an idea to make raita.I used to chop onions and tomato.In this we can make salsa in easy way too.Ok lets go the recipe

Ingredients:

Cucumber-2
Yogurt-1 cup
Chilli powder-to taste
Salt to taste
Coriander -few

Preparation:

Clean the cucumber well with water .Peel the skin and chop the cucumber as shown in the pic.




Method:


Take the chopper and add the cucumber ,curd,chilli powder,salt ,coriander.






Pull the string as shown in the pic.






Now the raita is ready to serve.

Ponnaganti Aaku Podi Pappu Curry

Hai friends today I am coming with yummy and tasty recipe called Ponnaganti Aaku Podi Pappu Curry.This is simple and tasty curry.This is very good for eyes.This leaves contain good source of Iron,fibre and calcium.This can cooked dal and fry too.I liked the curry very much.This leaves grown in my backyard.Ok lets go the recipe.


Ingredients:

Ponnaganti Leaves -3 cups
Moong dal-1 cup
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tsp
Turmeric little pinch
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Urad dal-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chillies to taste
Curry leaves few




  Preparations:

Clean the Leaves:Discard Leaves from the stem and chopped finelly the leaves.Clean it well with water and drain the water .keep it aside.







How to cook dal:Place 2 cups of water in the pan and boil it.In the mean time clean the moong dal well with water and keep it aside.






When water starts to boil add the moong dal slowly and mix  it.Cook this in low flame for 5 minutes.After 5 minutes the moong dal is cooked and water evaporated.Keep this cooked dal aside.


Method:

Place the pan and heat it.When the pan gets heat add oil ,urad dal,jeera and mustard seeds.
When the urad dal is light brown and mustard seeds start to pop add the dry red chillies and curry leaves.


Now add the cleaned leaves .water
and salt cover it and  cook it in low flame.
In 2 to 3 minutes the leaves get cooked.



At this time add the cooked dal and mix it gently as shown in the pic.


Fry this for 2 minutes and off the flame.


Serve the curry with steamed hot rice.





Note:

Garlic:To this curry we can use garlic.
