Star Fruit Rasam

Hai friends today i am coming with "Star Fruit Rasam".This is the yummy rasam.While cooking this rasam the aroma of the rasam makes me hungry .For this rasam i didnt use any tamarind.Those who don"t want tamarind rasam this is great substitute.Ok lets go the recipe


Ingredients:

Star Fruit-3
Garlic-2 cloves
Salt to taste
Chilli powder-1/4th tsp
Rasam Podi-2 tsp
Green chillies-3
Chopped coriander-handsful
Jaggery little
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chillies few
Curry leaves few
Hing little pinch
Oil-1 tsp

Preparation:

Clean well with water and cut it intlo slices and remove seeds.Keep it aside.



Method:


Take the star fruit slices in the bowl.Mix it well the star fruit when it releases water.



To this add the chopped coriander,turmeric,chilli powder and rasam powder.Mox it well with hand as shown in the pic.






 To this add 3 cups of water  and keep it aside.

Take the deep bottomed pot add the oil and heat it.

To this add the mustard seeds and make it pop.


To this add the jeera,dry red chilli pieces,slit green chillies,curry leaves ,crushed garlic and hing.
Saute for few seconds.


Now add the star fruit masala water ,salt and make it boil.





When it starts to boil add the jaggery and boil again for 3 more minutes.

Now the rasam is ready to serve.

Serve it hot with steamed rice.

Kuska Rice/Plain Biryani/Amaranth Rice/Thotakoora Biryani

Hai friends today iam coming with yummy and tasty recipe called"Kuska Rice".This is called plain biryani witout vegetables.This recipe i saw in one of youtubers.I really liked the recipe and give it a try,It came out so good..This is so simple recipe too.This can be served with raita or kurma.I served with raita.Ok lets go to the recipe


Ingredients:

Basmati Rice-2 cups
Onions-2
Amaranth /Thotakura-2 cups
Garlic chopped -1 tsp
Ginger chopped-1 tsp
Green Chillies-5 to 6
Tomato -1
Pudina Leaves-1 cup
Coriander Leaves-1 cup
Salt to taste
Curd/Yogurt-1/2 cup
Chilli powder to taste
Elachi-2
Cloves-2
Cinnamon-1 piece
Bay Leaves-2

Preparation:

How to prepare masala puree:

Place the pan and add the oil and heat it.




To this add the spices,ginger,garlic and green chillies.Fry for 1 minute.




Add sliced onions and fry until transparant.



Add the sliced tomatoes and fry it till mussy.


Now add the chopped pudina and coriander and fry it.



Mix it well and make it cool.

After cooled grind to paste.Keep it aside.




Procedure:

Place the deep bottomed pot and heat it.
To this add the oil .When oil gets heat add the bay leaf and remaining sliced onions and fry it.



Now add the cleaned amaranth leavues anf fry it.

When the leaves get cooked andd the grinded paste mix it well.





To this add the chilli powder and curd.


Cook it well till the oil floats.

To this add the rice and mix it again




To this add 4 cups of water and salt.

Cover it and cook in low heat untill rice get cooked.



Serve it hot with Raita.
