Traditional Majjiga Pulusu


 Hai friends today i am coming with yummy and tasty recipe called "Majjiga  Pulusu".This is very easy tasty and comfort food .This we can do in different variations .This is one of the variation.This recipe i saw from the Vismai  Food channel. I really liked the dish and give a try .It came out so good.Ok lets go the recipe




Ingredients:

Curd/Yogurt-2 cups

Bottle gourd pieces -1 cup

Bendakayalu/Okra-1/2 cup

Green chillies-2 or 3

Tomato-1

Curry leaves few

Salt to taste

Turmeric little pinch

Oil-1 tsp

Tamarind juice-2 tsp

For grinding

Raw  Rice-2 tsp

Coriander seeds-2 tsp

Jeera-1 tsp

Mustard seeds-1/4 th tsp

Chana dal-1 tsp

Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp

Peppercorns-1/2 tsp

For seasoning

-----------------

Ghee-2 tsp

Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp

Jeera-1/2 tsp

Dry red chillies few

Curry Leaves-few

Hing little pinch

Preparation:

Take all the grinding stuff in the bowl add 1 cup water and soak it for 30 minutes.



After 30mminutes grind to smooth paste and keep it aside


Add this paste to the yogurt and mix it well without any lumps


Add little water too

Keep this aside


Method:


Take  thick deep bottomed pot and add 6 cups of water

Add the cut veggies ,chillies ,tomato pieces ,curry leaves ,2 tsp tamarind juice and salt one by one and make it boil.







It takes 10 minutes to boil



Now add the yogurt and masala mixed mixture to the cooked veggies

Add turmeric and salt too.


Cover it and cook for 20 minutes.

After that do seasoning

Place the small pan and add the ghee

To this add the mustard seeds,jeera,dry red chilli pieces ,curry leaves and hing.

Add the seasoning to the majjiga pulusu

Finally add the chopped coriander to the majjiga Pulusu

Now the Majjiga Pulusu is ready.

This tastes better when it soak for 2 to 3 hours.

Serve this with hot steamed rice
