Hai friends today i am coming with the Lotus stem fry.In telugu we cal l it as Tamara Tudulu.This we get fresh stems.We clean it well and peel the skin and boil it and stir fry this stems.Here we get frozen ones.We also get fresh ones in the asian groceries but they are very big ones its little difficult for me to eat.Ok lets go to the recipe.
Ingredients:
Lotus stems-1 packet
Urad dal-1 tsp
Chana dal-1 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Green chillies-few
Dry red chillies-few(u can use according to ur taste)
Salt to taste
Chilli powder to taste
Turmeric-little pinch
Oil-2 tsp
Preparations:
Take the packet and open it and take the lotus stem pieces in the glass bowl and defrost it.
To this add the water,turmeric and salt mix it well.
Cook this in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes(Check in the middle while it is cooking).
After 10 minutes take out and drain them in the colander and keep it aside for 5 minutes.
Method:
Take the wide pan and heat it.
To this add the oil,urad dal,chana dal fry till changes the colour.
Add the mustard seeds fry till it pops.
Now add the jeera,green chillies,dry red chillies,curry leaves fry this for few seconds.
Add the turmeric,salt and finally add the drained lotus stems.
Mix it well.
If u want little spicy add very little chilli powder and mix it well.
Serve it hot in the evening snack.
Note:
Dont over cook the lotus stem.It should be little cruncy .
