Hai friends today i am coming with the Simple Vegetable Rice. This rice is very handy to make for all time.I learned this recipe from one of my friend Kavita. This is very simple and easy to make.
My brother he always asking me why u r not posting recipes for bachelors. So i am posting this recipe for him.I hope he enjoy. When ever i feel lazy i used to prepare this rice and have with the raita.
Ok lets go to the recipe.
Ingredients:
Rice -2 cups
Vegetables-Acc to ur choice(I use carrot,peas)
Onions-2(big onion 1)
Green chillies-7
Turmeric little pinch
Salt to taste
Chilli powder little
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp(optional)
Whole sipces-each 4(Elachi,Cloves,Cinnomon){Bachelors u can use store bought Garam masala}
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves few
Oil-2 tsp
Coriander leaves few
Water-required to cook the rice
Preparations:
First peel the skin of the carrot and chop it same as onions.
Slit the green chillies.
Method:
Place the cooker and heat it.
When it gets heat add the oil and the whole spice.
Later add the mustard seeds and make it pop then add the jeera, green chillies and the curry leaves.
Fry this for 30 seconds.
To this add the chopped onions and little pinch turmeric mix it well cook this until the onions get transparent.
When the onions get cooked add the ginger garlic paste and fry this for 1 minute.
Add the chopped carrot and peas and mix well and fry this for 1 minute.
Now add the rice and mix well .
To this add the require amount of water, salt and little chilli powder and mix well cover it and put the weight.
Now wait until we get 1 whistle and now off the stove.
Wait for 5 minutes now open the cooker mix well with thw chopped coriander.
Take this in the serving bowl and serve it hot with the Raita or curry.
Note:
Water:I use basmati rice for that the water ratio is 1 : 1.
For regular rice use 1( rice):3 (water).
If we cook regular rice cook this for 3 whistles.
For Basmati rice cook for 1 whistle.
