Hai friends today i am coming with the simple,easy and tasty recipe called "Semiya upma".This we can have like breakfast,brunch or dinner.We can prepare many varieties in semiya upma.Today i am coming with one of them.I really love this tomato semiya upma.Ok lets go to the recipe
Ingredients:
Semiya-2 cups
Tomatoes-2(I use big)(for small we have to use 4)
Onion-1(If big onion i use 1 or for small onions 2)
Green chillies-4
Chopped ginger-1 tsp
Curry leaves few
Turmeric little pinch
Salt to taste
Water-4 1/2 cups
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Oil-1 or 2 tsp
Preparation:
First dry roast the semiya till it changes to golden brown and keep it aside.
(I did not take this pics .I usually dry roast this and store in the jar)
Method:
Place the wide deep pan and heat it.
When it gets heat add the oil and heat it.
To this add the mustard seeds,jeera and make it pop.
When it starts to pop add the chopped ginger,green chillies and curry leaves fry for few seconds.
Now add the chopped onions and turmeric and fry till changes to transparant.
Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook well.
Add the water and salt and make it boil.
When it starts to boil slowly add the semiya without any lumps.
Cover it and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Now the upma is ready.
