Dabeli

Hai friends today i am coming with the new recipe called "Dabeli".Its Gujariti dish.Its a spicy snack.Actually my husband told about this snack name before that i never heard this recipe.he asked me to do this snack.Soon i search and got the recipe and bought the masala and the next day i tried he really loved the recipe.I too love it.So want to share with u guys.Ok lets go to the recipe.

Ingredients:

Pavs-1 packet(I used the buns but pavs is good to make like pockets)
Potatoes-2
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar-1 tsp
Turmeric-little pinch
Tamarind paste-1 tsp
Dates tamarind paste-1/2 cup(Soon will come with the recipe)
Chopped onions-1/2 cup
Sev-1/2 cup
Masala Peanuts-1/2 cup
Pomegranate seeds-1/2 cup
Lemon juice-3 tsp
Oil-2 tsp
Chopped Coriander-hands full
Dabeli Masala-1 1/2 tsp

Preparations:

Clean the potatoes and boil it.When it gets boiled make it cool then peel of the skin.
Later mash it well and keep it aside.

Garlic chutney:

Take the 2 chopped garlic,3 dry red chillies and little salt and blend to a paste and keep it aside.(optional)

Method:

Place the pan and heat it.When it gets heat add the oil and jeera.
When the jeera starts to pop add the mashed potatoes and mix it well.
To this add the turmeric,dabeli masala,sugar,salt,lemon juice ,tamarind paste,dates tamarind paste and mix it well.Now off the heat and keep it aside.
Now take the plate or bowl and spread the potato mix as shown in the pic.
Sprinkle the chopped onions,sev,masala peanuts,pomegranate seeds,chopped coriander as shown in the pic.

Heat the pavs:

Place the pan and heat it when it gets heat add the butter and place the pavs and slightly roast the pavs and keep it aside.




How to serve:

Take the pavs and apply the dates tamarind to one side of the pava and garlic chutney to another pav as shown in the pic.
Take the spoon full of the stuffing masala in the pavs and enjoy the Dabeli.
