Nimmakaya Chaaru/Lemon Rasam

Hai friends today I am coming with nice recipe called Nimmakaya Chaaru".This is also called as Lemon Rasam.This is very yummy and nice for digestion.My mom prepares this rasam on fasting days we really enjoy this rice.For this rasam rice we eat potato fry as side dish.And ofcourse papad.Always papad is nice combination for rasam rice.Ok lets go to the recipe.

Ingredients:

Moong dal-1/4th cup
Lemon-2
Tomato-1
Onion-1(Optional)
Green chillies-2
Turmeric little pinch
Salt to taste
Rasam powder -1/2 tsp
Curry leaves few
Chopped Ginger-1 tsp
Chopped Coriander-handsfull
Oil-2 tsp
Hing little pinch
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp


Preparations:

Take the moong dal in the cooker clean well with water.



Add required amount of water and pressure cook for 2 whistle.


After two whistles switch off and wait until the pressure goes.

Now whisk it well and keep it aside.

Method:

Take dal in the bowl add the water,turmeric,tomato,onion,salt,rasam powder,chilli pieces,ginger and make it boil.










Boil this for 5 minutes.Then off the heat and keep it aside.




In the small pan add the oil .When the oil gets heat add the mustard seeds and make it pop.

When the mustard seeds starts to pop add the jeera,curry leaves and the hing.


Add this seasoning to the rasam.Make it cool.


When it gets cool add the lemon juice and chopped coriander.





Mix it well and serve it hot with steamed rice.
