Potlakaya Koora(Snake gourd fry)

Hai friends today i am coming with Snake Gourd Curry.This is very simple and  tasty.My mom used to prepare Potlakaya perugu pacchadi.We love both fry and chutney.She used to tell this should not be taken with any non veg curries.Ok lets go to the recipe.

Ingredients:

Potlakayalu(snake gourds)-2
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli pieces few
Curry leaves few
Salt  to taste
Urad dal-1/2 tsp
Chana dal-1/2 tsp
Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric -1/8 tsp
Oil -1 tsp

Preparations:

First wash and peel the skin of the snake gourd with the knife and cut them into thin slices.
Wash it well with water and keep it aside.

Method:

Place the pan and heat it .When it gets heat add the oil,urad dal and chana dal fry until the changes light brown.
To this add the mustard seeds and jeera.When the mustard seeds start to pop add the dry red chillipieces and curry leaves fry this.
Now add the cleaned snake gourd and turmeric and mix it well.
After 1 minute add required amount of salt  cover and cook in low heat until it gets cooked.
After it gets cooked add the chilli powder and fry for 1 minute.
Switch off the heat and take them in the serving bowl.
Serve hot with plain steamed rice.

Star Fruit Pickle

Hai friends today i am coming with Star fruit pickle.This we can get in Chinese store.I love this fruit.It tastes very sour.When it is tender we can make rasam,dal and pickle also.I love this fruit.Everyy time i used to bring and make the dal.This time i tried pickle it came out good.So wan to share with u.

Ingredients:

 Star fruits – 2
 Salt – 1/4 cup
 Mustard seeds – 2 and 1/2 Teaspoons
 Chilli powder – 5 Teaspoons
 Fenugreek seeds powder – 1/3 Teaspoon
 Turmeric powder – 1 Teaspoon
Asafoetida (soft) – Size of a Peanut
 Sesame  oil – 4 Teaspoons

Preparations:

First wash and wipe out with dry cloth and chop it and keep it aside.In this fruit there will be some seeds we have to take of it.

Method:

Take a bowl and make sure it must be dry.
Place the skillet and heat it .Now add the  salt ,hing and mustard seeds powder and fry for 1 minute to dry the moisture in the salt and add this to the bowl.
Now add the tumeric,fenugreek seeds powder,chilli powder and whisk it well.
To this add the chopped star fruit and mix well until all the choppe star well coated with the spices.
Now add the oil and mix it well.
Take this in the box.Make sure the box must be dry otherwise the pickle gets spoil.
Keep this pickle aside for 3 to 4 hours or over night.
Serve this with the curd rice.We can step into the Heaven.

Happy Valentines Day and How to carve strawberry into Rose

Hai friends wishing u a Happy Valentines Day.I hope u r having great day with all ur loved once especially with ur Husband.On this we can give nice feast by surprising with different tastes.Today i surprise with simple and different breakfast.I carved some strawberries into Roses and surprise him.Today i show how to carve.

How to decorate the bread to hearts.


Cut the bread in to hearts and just toast it with the butter.
And finally serve with the jam and berries.

Maida Halwa and My 200 post

Hai friends today is my 200 th post.I am really very happy to post 200.This all done with my family help and ur comments makes me to post more recipes.Here today i came with sweet.This i learned from my mom.She prepares this sweet very tasty.My husband love this sweet.Ok lets go to the recipe.

Ingredients:

Maida-1 cup
Sugar-1 cup
Water-1 cups
Ghee-1/2 cup
Cashew broken-4 tsp
Elachi little pinch
Red colour-little pinch

Preparations.

Grease the plate or pan with the ghee.
Method:

First mix the maida with water and mix it well without any lumps and keep it aside for 2 hours.
Place the wide pan and add the 2 tsp of ghee and heat it.
When it gets heat add the broken cashew fry until it chages to light brown..
To this  add the sugar  and water mix well and make it boil.
When it starts boiling add the elachi powder and little colour and mix well.
Now slowly add the soaked maida continously without any lumps and mix it well till it forms like paste(Means little thick).
When  it becomes thick add the ghee mix it well.
Fry this for 2 minutes and take out from the fire and add to the greased plate .
After 5 minutes cut into squares and serve it hot.
It really tastes good when it is hot.

Vegetable Manchurian

Hai friends today i am coming with the vegetable Manchuria.You all know that this  is chinese dish.I am very much fan of chinese food.This recipe is from Vahrehvah.I follow every step from him and it came out very good.This came out very good.Ok lets go to the recipe.

Ingredients:


Carrot-2
Green peas-1/2 cup
Sweet corn-1/2 cup
Capsicum-1
Onion-1(Big)
Rice-1/4 th cup
Green chillies-4 to 5
Garlic full pod
Ginger(chopped)-3 tsp
Spring onions-few
salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Chilli sauce-2 tsp
Soya sauce-2  to 3 tsp
Corn flour-2 to 3 tsp
Maida-1/4 th cup
Sugar-1 to 2 tsp
Coriander leaves few
Oil for deep frying
Sesame oil-3 tsp

Preparations:

First we have to cook the rice.Clean the rice with water and required amount of water and cook until it is done.
Chop the onion,green chillies,garlic  ginger,sping onions and keep it aside.
Peel the skin of the carrot and chop it.
Defrost both the peas and corn.
Chop the capsicum.
Now take all the vegetables in the chopper or blender .If we r using the blender run this for 5 seconds.Keep this aside.

Method:

First take the wide pan and add the 1/2 cup of water ,salt and make it boil.When it gets boil add the choppedd vegetables carrot,peas,corn and capsicum and cook this for 5 minutes.
When it gets cooked take out from heat and drain in the bowl which is arranged with the muslin cloth.
Keep it aside until all water comes out.Now take the water in one cup and keep it aside.
Take wide bowl and add the boiled vegetables,chopped green chillies,ginger,coriander,spring onions,salt,pepper,chilli sauce,corn flour and cooked rice.
Mix it well.(Dont add the water)
Take small amount of dough and make small balls and keep it aside.
Now roll this balls in the all purpose flour and keep it aside.
Heat oil for deep frying.When the oil gets heat slowly drop the balls one by one.
Fry until it turns to light brown colour.Take out from oil and place them on the paper to absorb excess oil.
Now take another wide pan and heat it .When it get sheat add the 2 to 3 tsp of sesame oil.
When it gets heat add the remainng chopped garlic,ginger,green chillies and fry for 1 minute.
To this add the chopped onions,spring onions ,ginger garlic paste and fry until the onions changes to transparant.
Now add the little pepper,soysauce,little cjilli sauce,sugar and little salt and stock water and make it boil.
When it starts bubbles add the corn flour mixed with water and pour slowly and mix it well  without any lumps.
Now add the fried balls and mix it well.
Cook this for 1 minute andswitch of the heat.
Finally add the chopped coriander and spring onions.
Mix it gently and serve hot with Fried rice or Noodles.
Serve it as Appetizer.

Note:

You can use another vegetables like celery,cabbage and cauliflower.
If u add more soy sauce dont add too much salt.
