Hai friends today i am coming with the "Tomato Pappu".Now i am going to show in the simple version.Which is also good for new to cooking and also for bachelors.This goes well with rice and roti.Ok lets go to the recipe.
Ingredients:
Toor dal-1 cup
Tomatoes-3(If u like more tangy add 1 more tomato)
Green chillies-4
Garlic-2 flakes
Turmeric little pinch
Salt to taste
Chilli powder-1/4th tsp(optional)
Coriander leaves few
Water-3 cups
For seasoning:
Oil-1 tsp(If u like seasoning with the ghee its really awesome)
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeeraa-1/2 tsp
Dry red chillies-few
Curry leaves few
Preparations:
First wash the tomatoes well with water and cut it into chunks.
Take the mortal and crush the garlic and keep it aside.
Method:
Take the pressure cookeer and add one cup of toor dal and wash well with the water.
Drain the cleaned water and add fresh water .
To this add green chillies,turmeric,tomatoes,crushed garlic,chilli powder and cover and cook upto 4 to 5 whistles.
Wait until the pressure goes and open the cooker cover and whisk it well and add the salt mix it well.
Transfer to the another bowl.
To this add the chopped coriander.
Now place the small pan and add the oil.
When oil gets heat add the mustard seeds and make it pop.
When it starts to pop add the jeera,dry red chilli pieces and curry leaves fry this for 10 seconds and take out from heat and add the popu(talimpu,seasoning,tadka) to the dal and mix it well.
Serve hot with rice or roti.

Note:
Tomatoes:If u want the dal little more tangy you can add one more tomato.
Onions:And also if u like add the onions u can add one onion.
Tadka:If u like the tadka with ghee itgives good taste.
