Dal Soup or Lentil Soup

Hai friends today i am coming with yummy soup called Dal soup.First i saw this recipe in a healthy soups book.There in the original recipe they used split green lentils but i changed to toor dal.But it came out good.We all love it.This is good for all ages.During rainy  or cold winter this soup goes very well.I really enjoy various varieties of soups it really get more interest when i bought the slow cooker.I simply add all the ingredients nad make it cook.But it takes 3 hours so i used to do it in the afternoon so that i can have it in the evening.This is very simple and everybosy can make.But today i used the cook top also soon i will come with no cook top recipe.Ok lets go to the recipe


Rival Slow cooker:


This i bought in the Thanksgiving.This is very helpful for.I used a lot.I used to prepare the soups,payasam and non veg curries.I really love this slow cooker.
Ingredients:

Dal-1 cup
Carrot-1
Brocolli-1/2 cup(You can use corn and peas too)
Celerey-1/2 cup
Onion-1
Garlic-2 pods
Pepper-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Rosemery-1/4th tsp
Oregano-1/4 th tsp
Cajun seasoning-1/2 tsp
Paprika-1/2 tsp
Maggie veg bullion cubes-1
Water-2 to 3 cups
Bay leaf-1
Olive Oil-1 to 2 tsp

Preparations:
Clean well the dal and soak the dal for 1 hour.

Chop the onions,vegetables and the garlic and keep it aside.

Method:

Place the deep bottomed vessel and heat it.When it gets heat add the oil.
To this add the chopped Garlic fry this till nice aroma comes.
To this add the chopped onions,bay leaf and veg bullion cube fry till it turns to golden brown.
Now add the vegetables carrot,brocolli and celery one by one
Fry this for 2 to 3 minutes.
Now add the soaked dal.

To this add the rosemary,oregano,and add the water.


Now mix it well and transfer everything to the slow cooker bowl
Now add required amount of water and salt mix it well and cook in high.
This takes 3 hours to cook.
Now add the chopped basil to the cooked soup .


Now cook this for 5 minutes.
 
 

Serve it hot with bread taost.
