Ridgegourd Peeled Podi(Beerakaya thokku)

Hai friends today i am coming with Ridgegourd peeled Podi.This is made from ridgegourd skin.We mostly peel the skin and threw the skin.We dont throw it we used to do this podi.In telugu we call this Beerakaya Nora.This goes nice with rice.Now lets go to the recipe.


Peeled ridgegourd skin-2 cups
Garlic pods-few(u can use more)
Oil-1 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chillies-Acc to ur taste
Salt to taste


First take the ridgegourd skin in bowl and wash it with water.
Then tranfer this to the jar and blend it.
It will blend like the coarse powder.Dont add the water.

Now place one pan and heat it.Then pour oil and heat it.

When it gets heat add the garlic and fry until it changes to light brown colour.

Then add the mustard seeds when it gets pop add the jeera,dry red chilli pieces,curry leaves and fry this for i/2 minute.

Now add the chopped onions and fry until it changes to light brown.

To this add the blended coarse powder in it and fry until the raw smell goes.

When it is half cooked add the salt and very little water(1 or 2 tsp) and fry for 1 minute.

Then tranfer all the mixture in the bowl and serve hot with steamed rice only.
