How to grow methi leaves in ur Patio


Hai friends today i am coming with how to grow Methi Leaves in Patio.I love to grow small plants and vegetables in my patio.Due to small patio and my daughter is small i cant grow them.This year my daughter know not to take off the leaves and mud .Now i am very happy to plant the methi leaves.It takes 2 weeks for methi to grow.Ok lets go how to grow methi leaves.

Things we need:

Methi seeds few
Pot mix that required for plant
Pot mixing
Gloves
Water required to pour after planting
Pot or Aluminuim tray (I use Ziploc box)

Procedure:

First take the pot or Aluminium tray or Ziploc Box
Actually my Ziploc is broken at centre of the corner.So i make holes to all corners to out the water.
WIth the help of Match box i make holes.Now it is ready for planting.
Take the box add pot mixing to 3/4 of the box.
Press it very lightly.
Now sprinkle the methi seeds as shown pic.
Now close it with some of the pot mixing.
Finally sprinkle water look how my daughter is helping and put under sun.
Daily water it.
After 3 days the look how it starts to grow
After 2 days
After 6 days and that is today look how it grow.

    even i grow methi, but since the pot is small it stops growing after sometime.....how do you continuously grow methi? do you add the methi seeds again and again?

  17. Hi vineela, i was typing "how to grow methi leaves" in google, and your link came up. I did ,just as you told. after two weeks, it did grow a bunch of methi leaves. but i dont get the aroma? do you get aroma from that? thanks, Aarthy

    Thanks for this helpful post. This is going to be my first time with gardening.

    When do you harvest methi leaves? Also once the leaves are taken out, do we have to sow methi seeds again or will they grow from the severed stalks like cilantro?

    1. Hi Nandhini thank u very much.Except winter in any season I used to grow the methi seeds.After it grows well I take out completely and place the seeds again.

  20. Hi Vineela,

    When is the right time to use the methi leaves? It's been 18 days since I sowed the seeds and they are now about 2 to 3 inches in height. Is this the correct time to harvest them? Some say it takes about a month for it to grow fully. Please let me know.

    During winter we cant grow methi.When temperature is ok we can grow.After sowed seeds for 3 to 4 weeks we get full grown methi.
