Chaaru(Rasam) and also an Award

Hai friends today i am coming with Chaaru.This is also called as Rasam.In our daily menu this is compulsory.This we can prpeare in different ways by adding different vergetables.I love this rasam with plain dal.Ok lets go to the recipe.

Ingredients:

Tamarind Water-2 cups(Take small lemon size tamarind add warm water and soak for 5 miutes and mix well drain the water)
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Rasam powder-1 tsp
Ginger Garlic paste-1/2 tsp
Curry leaves few
Oil-1 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli pieces few
Coriander leaves few
Curry leaves strings few

Method:

First take one deep bottomed pan and add the tamarind juice and little water.
To this add the rasam powder,salt,turmeric,few curry leaves,curry leaves strings,few dry red chiili pieces and also the ginger garlic paste and make it boil for 5 minutes.When it is boiling we will get nice aroma from it.




After 5 minutes take out from heat and keep it aside.
Now place the seasoning pan and the remaing oil and heat.
When it gets heat add th e mustard seeds.
When it starts to pop add the jeera,dry red chilli pieces,curry leaves.
Add the seasoning to the boiling liquid.
Now remove the curry leaves strings and finally add the chopped coriander.
Serve this with hot rice and papad.

Note:Add the curry leaves stems so that we get nice taste and aroma.After that u can take out from the rasam before serving.
U can add vegetables like Tomatoes,Okra,Drumsticks,Any leafy vegetables and make it boil.

  6. Rasam is one such item..that no body says No to it...be it andhra karnataka or tamilnadu...love the varieties of rasamas.....Lovely presentation Vineela....with a step by step procedure...guess my lunch menu is ready :)
