Hai friends today i am coming with the "Dosa".Its South Indians favourite tiffin. Not only south indians all over indians like this tiffin. It is similar to pancake. Its indian pancake.Everybody loves this one. This does not contain oil. With this batter we can prepare the "gunta ponganalu"as i shown in the previous posts. For dosa first we have to prepare the batter. Now lets go to the recipe.

Ingredients:

urad dal-1 cup
rice-2 cups
chana dal-1/2 cup
fenugreek seeds-1/2 tsp
poha-2 tsp(For smooth and fluppy)
cooked rice-2 to 3 tsp(This is for colour)
salt-acc to ur taste

Method:

For Batter:

First soak urad dal, rice, chana dal, fenugreek seeds for 3 to 4 hours. For poha 15 minutes are enough for soaking.
After 4 hours clean all the soaked dals ,rice and grind everything by adding little water.During grinding add both the poha and cooked rice.

The batter should be very smooth.Add salt to the batter and keep it aside for 5 hours to ferment.

Now lets go to Dosa

Dosa batter-2 cup

onions,chillies,ginger chopped finelly-4 tsp

Method:

Place the dosa pan and heat it.Now pour the dosa batter at center and spread like circular motion from centre. To this spray oil at edges and sprinkle the onions, chillies and the ginger to it.

After 1 minutes fry another side also.
See how the colour came this is because of adding cooked rice while grinding.Fold it.
Serve hot with chutney.
Note:If u want the dosa more crispy and 1 more cup rice.

  1. Hi,
You have a lovely collection of recipes, my valuable suggestion to you - eliminate adding poha & cooked rice to your dosa batter and grind the batter a bit coarse ( slightly grainy)..this will give you wonderful dosas in restuatant style.
