Gunta Ponganalu

Hai bloggers today i am coming with simple breakfast Gunta Ponganalu.This is andhra's famous breakfast.For this u should have special skillet.With the help of that skillet u can prepare the ponganalu.When ever i used to prepare dosa batter i used to prepare little thick batter.Fot that batter if u add more water that can be used for dosa.For pongananlu the batter should be little thick.this goes nice with coconut or peanut chutney.

Ingredients(For dosa batter)

urad dal-1 cup
rice-2 cups
salt-1/2 tsp
baking soda-pinch
Poha-2 tsp(soaked)
cooked rice-2 tsp
Tip : By adding rice and poha to that batter it gives smooth dosa and ponganalu

Method:Soak both rice and urad dal for 2 hours.clean it throughly with water and grind to fine paste.Add the salt and baking soda to it.Stay the batter for 5 to 6 hours when it raises then u can use to prepare the dosa.For dosa and ponganalu ferment batter tastes good.


GUNTA PONGANALU

Ingredients:

dosa batter-1 cup
chilly and ginger paste-1 to 2 tsp(acc to ur taste)
onions(chopped)-1
jeera-1 tsp
salt-acc to ur taste
chilli powder-1/2 tsp
turmeric-pinch
coriander-few spring(finely chopped)
oil-2 tsp

Method:Take a bowl mix all the ingredients except the oil.
Place the skillet on the heat.When it is in low heat apply oil to it and pour the spoon ful batter into each cup like this
cover this with lid so that it cooks.After 1 minute turn to another side so that the other side also cooks.


Now take this in plate serve hot with coconut or ground nut chutney.This goes nice with any cutney.

Note:-Dont over heat the skillet .
Dont poor oil when the skillet is too hot the ponganalu turns to black and oily.
